The course builds on knowledge from high school physics and the D-program courses in Linear algebra and Calculus.Aim
To present an overview of Physics aiming at introducing some physical models useful in engineering and helps to develop a deeper understanding of nature.Learning outcomes (after completion of the course the student should be able to)
(Mechanics:)- be familiar with kinetics.
- apply Newtons laws to solve problems dealing with particles and rigid bodies.
- use the laws of thermodynamics to solve problems dealing with idealized thermodynamic processes.
- solve simple heat conduction problems.
- solve simple problems dealing with the propagation of travelling waves.
- solve problems that demand understanding of the phenomena interference and diffraction.
