Content
The thesis course gives the student/student group the opportunity to take on an independent thesis work in Swedish or English that touches on the relationship between technology, science and society.Organisation
The course work includes choosing a topic as well as formulating and delimiting a problem within this topic. Furthermore, it includes carrying out and reporting the thesis work within a given time frame with given resources and in a way that shows the student's ability to fulfill the learning objectives. The essay will then be presented in both written and oral form. The work mainly consists of self-study, supported by supervision. The essay work can be done individually or in groups.
The 7.5 credits are completed over one semester. A course round starts at the beginning of each semester.
Literature
Literature is chosen in accordance with the student's choice of thesis subject.
Examination including compulsory elements
The course is examined through submission and assessment of the finished thesis, as well as through an oral presentation of the thesis. Examination can take place in Swedish or English. Grades for the course are given on a Pass or Fail scale.
The course examiner may assess individual students in other ways than what is stated above if there are special reasons for doing so, for example if a student has a decision from Chalmers on educational support due to disability.
