  • Conduct a project where division and coordination of tasks between members is needed
  • Develop your ability to receive, process, and effectively use feedback and criticism to refine and improve your digital innovation and pitches as well as critically assess and provide constructive feedback on other student team’s work

Content

This course offers a practical application, where students get to work on a project defined by external stakeholders. The course focuses on developing a digital innovation in a team-based format, providing students with a unique opportunity to collaborate with a real company or organization on a real challenge.

Organisation

This course is organized as project work where students form teams, typically consisting of six members. The course includes lectures, seminars, practical exercises, student-led presentations, and various assignments. A significant part of the course consists of independent group work, where students develop a prototype for a digital innovation commissioned by a company sponsor. The main goal of the project is to develop and pitch a digital innovation to a company that addresses a real challenge that the company is facing.

Through this course, students have the opportunity to develop valuable skills in software development, while gaining practical experience by working on a project that is directly linked to the real business world.

Literature

Please see the course website for more information.

Examination including compulsory elements

Examination is conducted through oral presentations and written assignments done in groups throughout the course. Additionally, student group are required to perform several 'peer-reviews' of other projects. It is required that all course assignments be fulfilled with satisfactory results, including mandatory attendance during the occasions when the external company is present. Grades are given at the group level.

The course examiner may assess individual students in other ways than what is stated above if there are special reasons for doing so, for example if a student has a decision from Chalmers on educational support due to disability.
