Aim

The aim of this course is to provide students with both theoretical and practical knowledge in the areas of combustion plants, ship propulsion, hydraulics and maintenance technology.

Organisation

The course consists of twelve lectures of in total 45 hours, five lab exercises of in total 15 hours and two hand-in exercises corresponding to 15 hours.

Examination including compulsory elements

Part A: Examination paper
The course ends with a written examination which include the whole course that has passed during lectures, in the course literature, hand-in exercises, practice and laboratory work.

Part B: Hand-in exercises
The course hand-in exercises consist of three separate hand-in exercises. One in hydraulic, one in maintenance and one in economic operation.

Part C: Laboratory work
The course laboratory work consist of simulator laboratory work, hydraulic laboratory work, heat exchanger laboratory work and of study visit

The course examiner may assess individual students in other ways than what is stated above if there are special reasons for doing so, for example if a student has a decision from Chalmers on educational support due to disability.
