The aim of this course is to provide students with ability to perform simple calculations in fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, piping, pumps, compressors, cooling and ventilation systems, as well as steam and heating. Exercises in engine simulator that trains the students in the operation of the above mentioned facilities.Learning outcomes (after completion of the course the student should be able to)

Organisation
The course consists of twelve lectures of in total 40 hours, five lab exercises of in total 20 hours and two hand-in exercises corresponding to 15 hours.Literature

Examination including compulsory elements
Part A: Hand-in exerciseThe course hand-in exercises consist of two separate hand-in exercises. One thermal heat balance in refrigeration system and one thermal heat balance in steam system.
Part B: Laboratory work
The course labororaty work consist of simulator laboratory work, engine laboratory work, stream technology laboratory work and of study visit.
Part C: Written exam
The course ends with a written examination which include the whole course that has passed during lectures, in the course literature, hand-in exercises, practice and laboratory work.

The final grade is determined by the grade of the written exam.
