Aim
The aim of this course it to provide the student with solid theoretical knowledge in handing and transportation of chemicals, crude oil and petroleum products in the form of liquid bulk cargo. The course focuses on on-board safety and the operative tasks as an deck officer on watch.Learning outcomes (after completion of the course the student should be able to)
- Describe oils and chemicals, physical and chemical properties- Perform load and intake calculations for oil and chemical cargoes
- Describe the various systems on board each ship type
