Aim

The course aims to give the student basic competence to handle traffis situations at sea and avoid collision.

Learning outcomes (after completion of the course the student should be able to)

1 Understand the International collision regulations (COLREG)
2 Apply the the international rules of the road by identify, analyze and act in traffic situations
3 Describe and compare information from visual and radar observations
4 Describe ARPA and/or Target Tracking functions and its limitations
5 Evaluate radar targets in relative and true motion
6 Use logbooks for navigation
