Analysis in one and several dimensions and linear algebra.Aim
To provide basic ideas of probability and statistics, and common tools and techniques for applications. Special emphasis is on models and methods used in Automation and Mechatronics Engineering.Learning outcomes (after completion of the course the student should be able to)
- use mathematical formulations of randomness and uncertainty
- solve problems with conditional probabilities
- perform calculations with discrete and continuous random variables
- apply the central limit theorem and related approximations
- implement point and interval estimates
- apply basic statistical tests
- apply basic reliability theory

Basic probability theory, random variables and their distributions, basic Monte Carlo methods, statistical inference and reliability theory.Organisation
