Eligibility

General entry requirements for bachelor's level (first cycle)
Applicants enrolled in a programme at Chalmers where the course is included in the study programme are exempted from fulfilling the requirements above.

Specific entry requirements

The same as for the programme that owns the course.
Applicants enrolled in a programme at Chalmers where the course is included in the study programme are exempted from fulfilling the requirements above.

Course specific prerequisites

Basic knowledge in transmission-line theory such as relations between impedance and reflection coefficients, and their representation in the Smith Chart corresponding to the course RRY011 Telecommunication is essential.

Aim

The aim of the course is to teach the basis in analysis and design of high frequency electrical circuits essential for wireless communication.

Learning outcomes (after completion of the course the student should be able to)

  • analyze electrical two-port networks
  • design and analyze high frequency circuits, e.g. amplifiers and oscillators
  • construct high frequency circuits by using CAD software
  • explain nonlinearities in high frequency circuits
  • explain noise in electronic circuits
