Aim

The aim of the course is to give the possibility to catch challenges, problems and topics of immediate interest that are not covered in the programme. The aim is to widen the perspectives, train innovative and explorative methods and tools and implement them into a project.

Learning outcomes (after completion of the course the student should be able to)

- Refer to current problems and trends in architectural and engineering practice that call for a widened architectural competence - Ability to plan an explorative project - Ability to conduct an explorative project - Ability to reflect and draw conclusions of an explorative project

Content

The contents will vary over the years. It could be a relevant student competition, a contribution to a public discussion about architecture and engineering with its tolls and methods, an international workshop etc.

Organisation

The course is given if a sufficient number of students register. The initiative may come from students as well as teachers. The course organization is adapted to the current issue and the course concludes with a criticism that deals with process as well as results.

Examination including compulsory elements

Active participation in the course. Deliveries of sufficient quality of exercises, project, reflections and conclusions.

The course examiner may assess individual students in other ways than what is stated above if there are special reasons for doing so, for example if a student has a decision from Chalmers on educational support due to disability.
