Aim

The aim of the study trip is to experience architecture in its full complexity and its full context, through a reflective observance strengthen the capacity to experience, through analytical sketching explain complexities and contexts, and by poetic sketching become inspired for future projects.

Learning outcomes (after completion of the course the student should be able to)

Exhibit and defend a record of observations and analysis made before, during and after the study trip.

Content

Literature studies.
Preparatory exercises in analytical and poetic sketching.
Study trip.
Processing of materials for exhibition/presentation.

Organisation

The course begins with literature studies and with preparatory exercises in analytical and poetic sketching. During the study trip observations and impressions are documented. After the study trip  the collected material is processed for a final exhibition and criticism, which is also the course examination.

Examination including compulsory elements

Attendance and approved presentation of collected material.

The course examiner may assess individual students in other ways than what is stated above if there are special reasons for doing so, for example if a student has a decision from Chalmers on educational support due to disability.
