From the academic year 24/25, Chalmers will take responsibility for signing up all students for the first ordinary exam session. This means that you no longer need to sign up for the ordinary exam session, if you are registered for the current course instance to which the examination belongs.
However, if you plan to take a re-examination, you will still need to sign up for the exam yourself. It is important to know that you are responsible for checking that you are signed up, regardless of whether Chalmers has signed you up or if you have done so yourself. Do not forget to withdraw your sign-up if you change your mind and do not intend to take the exam.
Does it sound complicated? We clarify the details
You will be signed up through Chalmers
- If you are registered for the current course instance and intend to take the exam on the regular exam date.
You must sign up yourself
- If you are registered for an earlier course instance than the current one and plan to take a re-examination. You must sign up during the registration period in question.
Information about registration periods can be found among the academic year dates.
Verification of registration is done in Ladok for students
You log in to your account in Ladok for students to check that you are signed up for the correct exam. If you need to sign up for a re-examination or withdraw from an examination, you also do this in Ladok.
Why has Chalmers made this decision?
“One of the reasons why we are introducing exam registration through Chalmers for ordinary exam sessions is that the exam is part of the course, and it should be possible to take for all students who are registered for the course in question.
Another reason is to prevent students from failing to sign up for ordinary exam sessions, which can have major consequences for your studies,” says Monika Tykeson, Head of the Study Administration and Systems Management Unit at Chalmers.
