“I’m feeling very excited and honored,” says Christian Fager, Full Professor and Head of Division of Microwave Electronics at the Department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience, who now has been elevated to IEEE Fellow for his contributions to the areas of RF power amplifier efficiency enhancement and modeling of transmitter distortion.
IEEE is the world’s largest technical professional organization stretching over more than 190 countries, including over 460,000 members of engineers, scientists, and allied professionals whose technical interests are rooted in electrical and computer sciences, engineering, and related disciplines.
Every year the IEEE Board of Directors elevate a number of members to the Fellow grade, and one of the 340 members worldwide to be selected for the 2025 class is Christian Fager, Full Professor of Microwave Electronics at the Department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience.
“I’m very excited and honored that the IEEE Board of Directors have decided to elevate me to the IEEE Fellow grade,” says Christian Fager.
The Fellowship is a distinctive recognition of the extraordinary accomplishments in any of the organization’s fields of interest. In their selection, the IEEE Board of Directors highlight Christian’s contributions to the areas of “RF power amplifier efficiency enhancement and modeling of transmitter distortion.” And when reflecting on his accomplishments, Christian would like to emphasize the importance of good collaborations and work environment.
“These contributions are the result of more than 20 years of research together with numerous PhD students, postdocs and colleagues at Chalmers, and with industrial and academic collaborators from all over the world! Throughout these years, Chalmers has always provided me with the excellent working environment and infrastructure needed to carry out world-class research,” says Christian.
In addition to Christian Fager, several other researchers active at the Department of Microtechnology and Nanoscience are IEEE Fellows: Peter Andrekson, Magnus Karlsson, Anders Larsson, Johan Liu and Herbert Zirath.
