At Chalmers' newly established Annual Celebration, several awards were given for outstanding achievements. Here you can read about all the award winners.
Chalmers pris för genomslag i samhället
Chalmers Impact Award, Pris för genomslag i samhället tillfaller i år företaget Amferia som startades av professor Martin Andersson och hans dåvarande doktorander Saba Atefyekta och Anand Kumar Rajasehkaran, för att ha utvecklat metoder att applicera antibakteriella ämnen på olika ytor, såsom plåster.
Chalmers' Pedagogical prize 2024
Johanna Xu, Anna Johnning, and Julie Rowlett are awarded the Chalmers Pedagogical Award 2024 for developing teaching at the university in various ways.
Chalmers' Pedagogical prize 2023
Lars Hellberg is awarded for his work with the Physics Student Laboratory and Romaric Duvignau for his work with active learning.
Areas of Advance Award
The Areas of Advance Award goes to Malgorzata Zboinska, Cecilia Geijer, and Tiina Nypelö for their groundbreaking collaboration that combines design and natural sciences. They have collaborated on developing building materials from yeast and recycled biomass – and the idea could take off thanks to Chalmers' Areas of Advance.
Chalmers Equality Award 2023 and 2024
Bri Gauger is awarded the Chalmers Equality Award 2024 for her work with academic citizenship at the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering. Pernilla Wittung-Stafshede and Mary Sheeran were awarded the Chalmers Equality Award 2023 for their work with the Genie foundation initiative.
Alumnus of the Year – For a Better World
The first recipients of the award are Andreas Flodström (I13) and Gustav Henman (E12), founders of Beetroot. The motivation mentions, among other things: "A large part of the business is conducted in Ukraine, and at the outbreak of war, they shifted their focus to the safety and support needs of their employees. They also established a relief fund for families in need."
Alumnus of the Year – Rising Star
The award goes to Julia Ravanis (F19), author and doctoral student at the Division of Science, Technology and Society at the Department of Technology Management and Economics.
The motivation reads, among other things: "With an impressive combination of technical knowledge and humanistic thinking, this alumnus has already made an impact in both science and culture."
