Traffic safety, a global perspective

This is an international graduate course on traffic safety where the participants will go to India to learn about the perspective from a developing country. It is organized in cooperation with the Transportation Research and Injury Prevention Programme (TRIPP) at the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi (IIT Delhi). This course will bring together professionals working in the area of transportation planning, safety promotion, biomechanics of impact and vehicle crashworthiness, trauma and pre-hospital care, and acquaint them with state-of-the-art information. It is especially designed for an interdisciplinary audience of traffic and road engineers, behavioral scientists, mechanical and automotive engineers, law enforcers, and police officers. The contents of the course are focused to give a global perspective to the road safety problem. There is a choice to focus on Transportation Planning, Biomechanics and Trauma or Pre-hospital Care.
