Pernilla Wittung-Stafshede, Professor of Chemical Biology at Chalmers University of Technology, has been appointed as an Honorary Fellow by the Royal Society of Chemistry, Great Britain.

Knut Åkesson is Professor of Automation at the Department of Electrical Engineering at Chalmers and conducts research in industrial automation.

ERC funded researchers
The European Research Council (ERC), supports excellence in research in EU member countries. The Council primarily does this by three major systems for research: ERC Starting Grants for outstanding scientists who are at the beginning of his career, ERC Consolidator Grant to support researchers at the stage at which they are consolidating their own independent research team or programme and ERC Advanced Grants that can be awarded to researchers who has established their own research groups.
Wallenberg Scholars
The Wallenberg Scholar program focuses on Sweden’s leading senior researchers. Eight researchers at Chalmers are included in the program.

The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences
The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, founded in 1739, is an independent organisation whose overall objective is to promote the sciences and strengthen their influence in society. Academy work is based upon the Academy's ten classes, each representing a scientific subject field.
Researchers at Chalmers in the Young academy of Sweden
The Young Academy of Sweden is an independent academy, which has the objective to function as a cross-disciplinary forum and to produce a scientific political platform for young scientists in Sweden. The Academy was formed in May 2011 at the initiative of The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. The members are elected for a five year period, based on academic excellence and interest in College affairs.
