Training in Research Data Management

Research data management (RDM) needs differ between research groups, projects and departments.
Chalmers offers bespoke workshops and seminars in RDM based on relevant needs and knowledge. 


Chalmers e-Commons offers training in RDM via its RDM-focused

group, Chalmers Data Office.

These training sessions can be adapted to different groups' needs, and can be given in various formats, such as workshops, online seminars, short onsite presentations, etc. Topics we offer training in include:

  • Good management of research data - practices and frameworks.

  • FAIR data - what is it and how do I make my data FAIR?

  • Data Management plans - what are they, why are they important and how do I create and maintain one?

  • Publishing and sharing research data.

  • Data security - offered in collaboration with Chalmers' Chief Information Security Officer. 

  • Handling personal information in research data, in collaboration with Chalmers' Data Protection Officer.

  • Archiving and preserving research data, in collaboration with Chalmers' Head Archivist.

The above topics can be combined into a longer session or series of sessions, and contents can be adapted to your specific needs.
