The Regulation for claiming your study place

At Chalmers, you must take full responsibility for your study situation from the first semester of a new degree programme. You must be an active student and have knowledge of the terms and conditions that apply to claim your study place.

If you do not fulfill the terms and conditions, then your study place may be revoked.

Terms and conditions

1. You must register for the courses of the degree programme to which you have been admitted.

You must do this during the time-period and in the manner specified by the university.
- Enrollment in two programmes at the same education level during the same semester is not allowed.

2. If you do not have a Swedish personal identity number (personnummer) and/or if you are required to pay tuition fees, then you must show a valid identity document at a mandatory attendance check.

You must do this during the time-period and in the manner specified by the university.

3. You must observe summons and read information from the university throughout your studies.

You should read your e-mail and take part of current information published by the university, for example by the programme director, student guidance counsellor and Chalmers study administration. You must be reachable throughout your entire study period, and you are responsible for registering your current e-mail address in Ladok.

4. You must actively pursue full-time studies throughout the first semester, on the degree programme you have been admitted to.

Full-time studies mean that you are registered on courses of 30 cr. (hp) per semester.
- You should contact your student guidance counsellor of your programme, in case of illness or other circumstances that could mean that you cannot pursue full-time studies, as soon as the reason has arisen.
- A leave of absence from studies can be granted at the earliest after completion of the first semester on the degree programme that you have been admitted to.

5. You must complete at least 15 cr. (hp) with at least a passing grade, during the first semester of the degree programme that you have been admitted to.

- For you who are admitted to the autumn semester, the re-examination period in January is included.
- For you who are admitted to the spring semester, the re-examination period in August is included.

6. You must register for the courses in the second semester, on the degree programme that you have been admitted to.

You must register during the time-period and in the manner specified by the university.

Footnotes

If you are studying according to an individual study plan, for personal reasons or because you are admitted to a later part of the programme (starting year 2 or 3 of a programme at the first cycle (bachelor’s level), you may be granted deviations from conditions 4 and 5.
