<h3>Mandatory course registration</h3>
Course registration opens three weeks before the start of the course and closes on Tuesday in the second week of study. You need to complete the registration on time to keep your place. The registration period is strictly limited and will close at midnight CET. Registration is a self-service online process and the data is entered into the student registry (academic merit administration system) called Ladok.
<ol>
<li>Activate your Chalmers ID (cid). After 1–2 hours you can use your cid to log in to Ladok. Follow the instructions at the page&nbsp;<a href="/en/education/new-student/what-you-need-to-do-as-a-new-student/" title="What you need to do as a new student">What you need to do as a new student</a>.</li>
<li>Use your cid and log into Ladok. Select the alternative "Access through your institution". Choose Chalmers.</li>
<li>Register on the course or courses open for registration. <a href="https://www.student.ladok.se/student/app/studentwebb/">Log into Ladok to complete your registration and enroll</a>.</li>
</ol>
Decline your offer of admission If you have been admitted to a course but no longer intend to take the course, it is important that you decline your offer of admission. Log in to Ladok and choose "Show more" and then choose "I no longer wish to attend". If this does not work please contact <a rel="noopener" href="mailto:admissions@chalmers.se" target="_blank" title="Mail to Admissions at Chalmers">admissions@chalmers.se</a>​ and state the information in an e-mail and we will decline the course offer for you.

<h4>Complete your mandatory online registration in Ladok between 11 August and 1 September 2025</h4>
You must complete the self-service online registration process to keep the study place offer. The registration period is strictly limited and will close at midnight CET.

<li>Register in Ladok to enroll and keep your study place A) Applies to Non fee-paying students&nbsp; Register on all courses currently open to registration to enroll. This includes to register the alternative: Mandatory program registration, ongoing, code&nbsp;CTH201. <a href="https://www.student.ladok.se/student/app/studentwebb/">Log into Ladok to complete your registration</a>. B) Applies to Fee-paying students only As an fee-paying student you must register the alternative: Mandatory program registration, ongoing, code CTH201 and the alternative: Tuition fee confirmation course, code LAD010. The remaining courses of your first semester cannot be registered by you. Those will be registered by members of staff once you have confirmed your presence at campus by attending the mandatory ID/passport check. <a href="https://www.student.ladok.se/student/app/studentwebb/">Log into Ladok and register on CTH201 and LAD010</a>. <a href="https://www.chalmers.se/en/education/application-and-admission/after-the-notification-of-selection-results/#confirm-your-presence-on-campus" class="underline transition text-west-coast hover:no-underline">Confirm your presence on campus</a>.</li>
<li>You will continue to need to register for each study period (4 study period/academic year). Find the dates at the page&nbsp;<a href="/en/education/your-studies/plan-and-conduct-your-studies/the-academic-year/" title="The academic year">The academic year</a>.</li>
</ol>
For your information Registration on CTH201 is one of the conditions in the Regulations for claiming your study place. This will be checked by the admissions at Chalmers. LAD010 applies to Fee-paying students only. 
<ul>
<li>CTH201 and LAD010 does not generate Swedish higher education credits (högskolepoäng) and the status remain as uncompleted and no further action is required.</li>
<li>CTH201 and LAD010 will not affect an applications for study assistance/funds/loans from the The Swedish Board of Student Finance (CSN) and the course will not be stated on the degree certificate.</li>
<li>CTH201 and LAD010 will not be listed on the official transcript (of records) if you actively choose to include completed courses only.</li>
<li>CTH201 and LAD010 is not a course in the curricula of the first semester. Your computer account, called cid (Chalmers-id) cannot be activated until one or several course registrations are completed.</li>
</ul>
