This is a step-by-step guide on how to apply for a master's programme at Chalmers University of Technology. Submit your application through universityadmissions.se from mid-October until mid-January. The master's programmes at Chalmers commence in the autumn semester only. We look forward to receiving your application!

Key dates

Submit your application during the "First admission round" from October to January. The key dates apply to all applicants from other universities in Sweden and the rest of the world.
Take note that Chalmers does not participate in the second round between March and April. The second admission round must not be confused with what Chalmers refers to as a late application.

(Bachelor's students from Chalmers must apply in a separate local admissions round in April.)

Check the overview of the key dates throughout the application process, up to the beginning of your master’s studies.

Application process 2027

  1. Find the master's programme that interests you and for which you have the required academic background.

  2. Most master's programmes offer the option to choose a specialisation. In most cases, you will choose your specialisation after you have been admitted and enrolled.

Please note that some programmes have specialisations that you must select as part of programme as a specific choice when you apply and cannot be chosen later. That option is listed with the programme name and the name of the specialisation (combined) on the application website. Please refer to each programme webpage for information about available specialisations and how they are selected.

  3. Check if you meet the general and specific requirements.

  4. Create an account and select programmes for your application at universityadmissions.se (or antagning.se).

  5. Rank your programme choices in order of preference and submit your application.

  6. Pay the application fee, if applicable.
