Our definition of utilization is broad. First and foremost, we see utilization as an integral part of our research and education, incorporating nearly all connections with the surrounding society.

The Department of Mathematical Sciences has broad and versatile areas of expertise and research interests. One of our strengths is that we cover the entire spectrum from fundamental research to applied research, such as from probability theory to statistical applications and from algebra, partial differential equations, and numerical analysis to computational mathematics and its applications, benefiting both parts.

Our Activities

Mathematical Sciences is a joint department between Chalmers and the University of Gothenburg.
