The department, currently employing around 200 people, is the largest mathematical department in Sweden, characterized by a clear international presence and well-established collaborations with other universities worldwide.

Our PhD students are employed at, and receive their degree from, either Chalmers or University of Gothenburg, but will all belong to the Department of Mathematical Sciences, where the work, study and the teaching environment is integrated between the universities.
