Antibiotic resistance is a serious threat to global public health. To reduce the risks, it is important to develop more knowledge, and to find alternative ways to combat multi-resistant infections. Previously unknown antibiotic resistance widespread among bacteria

A new study, from Chalmers University of Technology and the University of Gothenburg, shows that bacteria in almost all environments carry resistance genes, with a risk of them spreading and aggravating the problem of bacterial infections that are untreatable with antibiotics.
