Diana Bairaktarova, Department of Engineering Education, Virginia Tech, joins us online for a hybrid seminar. She will share a perspective on how educators respond to crises and difficult topics in the classroom to support learning and discusses research in the humanities and social sciences, as well as empathy frameworks to foster empathy development of engineering graduates. The seminar will include a short presentation of the topic, followed by questions and discussion.
