Assistant Professor to progress the transition to sustainable urban and regional environments
The area Urban and regional environments at Chalmers integrates and makes use of knowledge from various disciplines, professions, and the civil society. It covers a diversity of subjects such as regional and urban planning, critical social and environmental perspectives on architecture and the built environment, circular economy, climate change mitigation and biodiversity conservation. The broad range of topics are combined with the understanding that in order to find a more sustainable path, perspectives from the social sciences and humanities are as important as the discussion on necessary technological and ecological transformations. Starting 2024, we are consolidating the thematic area Urban and regional environments to strengthen our contribution to solving the grand challenges related to a sustainable transformation of our societies.
The research spans several departments, including but not limited to:
- Architecture and Civil Engineering
- Space, Earth and Environment
- Technology, Management and Economics
