The Chalmers Innovation Office supports researchers and students in the innovation process, from knowledge to societal benefit.
The Innovation Office is an internal support function within Chalmers and is part of what is usually referred to as Chalmers' innovation ecosystem. The mission includes capturing knowledge and research results from researchers and students at an early stage.
The employees in the office have specialist skills from various fields and provide advice and support to both non-commercial and commercial projects. The advice can, for example, concern patents and licensing, but also other types of knowledge dissemination. Everything takes place in dialogue with the researcher or student and is based on their needs and the nature of the knowledge assets with the goal of creating benefit in society.
The innovation advisors can contribute by formulating projects, facilitating meetings, or establishing methods for approaching innovation. They can also support the development of cooperation agreements.
The Innovation Office has a wide network, both inside and outside academia. Chalmers Innovation Office is also the gathering node for innovation advisors in western Sweden to develop the universities' innovation support and innovation work. The collaboration includes the universities in Borås, Jönköping, Halmstad and Skövde as well as University West.
