Offer degree projects
In their final semester, all students do a degree project. On the BSc in Engineering and maritime programmes and at Bachelor’s degree level, the project comprises 15 higher education credits. On the Master’s programmes, it comprises 30 higher education credits (30 = full-time for one semester). The degree project is an important opportunity for students to apply their knowledge to a real problem and it serves as a springboard into working life. We have a large number of international students on our Master’s programmes, many of whom are keen to do their degree projects outside the academic world. Usually, two students work on one degree project, except at Bachelor’s level where more than two students collaborate on each project. To support them in their degree project, the students have a supervisor from the relevant department at Chalmers, as well as a supervisor from the external party.
Advertise degree projects
In your position as client, you upload advertisements for theses to the Chalmers advertisement portal yourself. We then check and publish the advertisements as soon as we can. A thesis must first be approved by the head of programme and chosen examiner at Chalmers before the student can start working on it. Please note that the advertisement can therefore only be regarded as a proposal for a degree project.
We recommend that you advertise in English. It is the main language of all Master’s programmes as there are many international students at Chalmers. By writing in English, you will broaden the range of candidates and increase your chances of finding the right student for your thesis offer.

Organise and participate in activities via the Student Union
If you would like to organise activities on campus or reach students, the Chalmers Student Union is a way in. The Union creates many points of contact between students and employers, such as the CHARM career fair, sector-specific activities such as mentorship programmes, lunch lectures and local labour market days.
Via some of the Chalmers Student Union companies, you have the opportunity to organise other activities and recruit students; read more on their respective websites:
• Chalmers Studentkår Promotion (creates meetings between companies and students)
• Chalmers Studentkår Rekrytering (Chalmers Student Union’s recruitment company)
• Chalmers Teknologkonsulter (a consultancy run by students)
